Take the time to practice first then get on a demo platform and only when you consistently make money on demo, go live.

Many traders get impatient with this process and push forward as fast as possible.

The specter of time is one of the biggest reasons for this.

Most people reason that they need to become successful traders in the shortest time possible or they want to be like that other trader who became a millionaire within a year and so on.

Letting go of time limits is one of the first things you need to do.

Simply accept it will take however long it has to take and you will eventually get there.

Think of it this way.

If you need to get to another town for an important engagement, will you worry about how long it takes to get there? Beyond the initial planning phase, probably not.

You'll simply travel to the place and during your journey, you simply deal with whatever comes.

You don't sit there wishing you get there a day earlier or an hour earlier etc.

You might wish for it but it isn't your overriding concern.

You just accept that you arrive whenever it is you arrive.

The Future of the Financial Exchanges

Author : Herbie Skeete
Published by ElsevierPublished since 2010-07-28

In May 2007, an extraordinary meeting took place in London's The Exchange Forum.

Chief executives from many of the world's most important financial exchanges came together with senior executives from a wide array of global banking, trading, and investing firms, index providers, regulators, system suppliers, and key academics to discuss the rapidly changing business and technological environment in which exchanges function.

The forum was an exclusive event, open only to the most senior-level individuals in the global exchanges community: those who run exchanges, who are clients of exchanges, who invest in exchanges, and who supply goods and services to exchanges.

In presentations and panel discussions over two days, these experts explored the effect of shrinking margins as more instruments became exchange traded rather than OTC and the conflicts that creates.

They shared what exchanges are doing today to respond to the challenges wrought by competition, globalization, and rapid technology advances.

And they looked into the future and discussed the multi-asset, multi-currency, and multi-region trading that holds out the promise of future success.

The book is based on the discussion and analysis that took place at this exclusive event that brought together leading exchange professionals, their customers, and suppliers from around the globe to share insights and experiences.

It will provide an overview of the latest technological, regulatory, and market developments in the exchange industry and the common problems exchanges face; explain how these problems are being addressed; and present the consensus view from leading exchange professionals about how to move forward.

Most significant, the ideas in the book will come directly from the worlds leading exchange professionals and customers.

* Hear the voices of executive-level exchange professionals throughout the book for a candid, realistic, and high-level analysis of the exchange business, its present and future * Share the stories of success and failure these exchange executives shared as they discussed solutions to common challenges * Chart the way forward for your exchange business with confidence based on the collective insights and experience of these professionals

The making money with money business isn't really an H&P type of business, what is H&P you might be asking, hoping and praying.

You don't need a rosary you need a money making edge especially as a beginner.

I'm not going to sugar coat it, this business is an ugly place for an untrained and underfunded self-directed beginner.

There are very bad people in the live market who are looking to take all of your money from you, and they will should you not be prepared properly to go to work in the live markets with a money management plan.

Picture yourself throwing all your startup capital into the bon fire at the party you'll throw for yourself for starting your new self-directed trading business up and watch it burn up in smoke and flames right before your very eyes.

You smell that? That's all your money burning up because you did not have a money management plan.

Many people say that money doesn't buy happiness and while that is true, a lot of it can buy a Gulfstream 650! I hate standing in line at the airport don't you? Do what it says in Forex Money Management Tips for Supply & Demand Trading Beginners and you could be on your way owning your own G650.

With some good planning and the right education and training from the very start a new self-directed investor and trader can get up to speed fairly quickly and then it is a matter of polishing ones skills and money management plan.

Once they are confident in their money management skills and their plan is solid they should have no problems going into the live market and becoming a successful market participant.
